MemberThanks again!

MemberOk you mean:
1. create your documents
2. bind it together with the book panel
—magic begins here–
3. insert a text anchor on the “target page” – the last one. This can be found in the hyperlinks panel under “create new hyperlink target”
4. go to the master page of your document which syncs all your documents in the book
5. insert here a cross reference linked to the text anchor with the property <pageNum />Thats a brilliant Idea David and… it works perfectly!

MemberI installed Adobe reader and all looks and works fine.
In Acrobat X the buttons are blinking (even after reinstall).
MartinDoersch
MemberI uploaded a pdf: buttons.pdf (open with Adobe Reader or Acrobat!)
The black recangles will just blink shortly at hover. In InDesign the are 100k (black) at normal and 50k at hover state.

MemberI think the dialog box could appear.

MemberThat's it man – definitly thanks!
You have to close all documents. Go to Layout -> Margins & Columns and change the value (from 4,233mm) to 5mm.
From now on all your settings (of new documents) (gutter-tool, step and repeat at creation [e.g. frametool], frametool incl. strg/cmd and coursor-keys [+0,25mm steps],… ) will start at 5mm.

MemberYes, thats it. Thanks a lot!
The final code:
//DESCRIPTION:Count Words of Opened Documents
// A Jongware Script 18-Aug-2010
words_a = 0;
words_b = 0;
//loop
for (var d=0; d<app.documents.length; d++)
{
doc = app.documents[d];
words_a += countWords_a (doc);
words_b += countWords_b (doc);
}
//alert message
alert (“Number of words: “+words_a+”rOr possibly (by GREP): “+words_b);
//word count function a
function countWords_a (aDoc)
{
var w = aDoc.stories.everyItem().words.length;
return w;
}
//word count function b
function countWords_b (aDoc)
{
app.findGrepPreferences = null;
app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = “w+”;
var w = aDoc.findGrep().length;
return w;
}

MemberWow, thats a lot more secure way, thanks.
Is it possible to change the code to all current opened documents, and kick the book feature out.
So you have the possibility to count the documents you want to.
MartinDoersch
MemberMy solution for now is the following:
GREP search:
- search for: b.+?s (description: wordBoundary anyCharacter oneOrMoreTimes(ShortestFit) anySpaceCharacter)
- change to: $0 (description: replaceWithFound)
- search in: all documents (description: InDesign searches in all opened documents)
IMPORTANT:
- Save before searching and close your document after you have performed the search; so you will not save any corrupt files.
- Watch out that you don't search and replace any formatting.
- If you do something wrong (e.g. insert one different character) you can kill you document(s) – but you can undo the search with cmd+z.

MemberThis is no problem in CS4.
I don't know if there's a way in CS3 – maybe with a plugin: indesignsecrets.com -> how-to-do-cross-references-in-indesign

MemberHi
I work as graphic designer and softwaretrainer (CS design standard – print design, creative work, retouching) in Austria. Additionally I work as promotor for wacom, gridiron software, corel and some others.
In the next time I hope to get more jobs in the field of retouching and layout design.
I started with the CS2 (three years ago) and get some rockets under my feet or so
— now I teach ID, Ps and Ai on ACE level at the wifi (www.wifi.at) in Linz.MartinDoersch

MemberThere is a kuler panel in InDesign. Go to Window -> Extensions -> kuler (I hope it's called this way in the english version).
In there you can search for color themes, save them and use the color in your design.
Best
