Turn Photos into Printable 3D Objects
Shapeways, an online co-creation community, has announced the PhotoShaper, a free online application that turns digital photographs into 3D printable objects.
After you upload a photograph, PhotoShaper instantly creates a depth-layered 3D object based on the contrast of the picture. Then Shapeways can output that object using the latest in 3D printing technology (Rapid Prototyping).
You can try out the Shapeways PhotoShaper at https://www.shapeways.com/creator/photoshaper.
