Track Down Image Thieves Online
Press release
ImageRights is a service that uses powerful Image Recognition Technology to help you locate and identify where your uploaded images are being used online.
Q. Who should use ImageRights?
A. ImageRights is designed for professionals that earn income from their images and need to understand how their images are being used and to help protect against their unauthorized use. ImageRights users include photographers, illustrators, visual artists, image libraries and publishers.
Q. How does it work?
A. You register with ImageRights and upload your images to our system. Your work is done, it’s that easy. ImageRights visits business, blogs, and news and media sites 24/7 every day of the year, bringing in a million images per month. We look at the images from these sites and compare those images to all of the images of our image professionals. We use powerful image recognition technology to match any images we found to those of our image pros. When we find an image match, you will receive a report that shows your original image, the image we found (which might be altered) and the URL where we found the image. You will receive a report weekly, whether we find a match or not.
Q. Can you match my images even if they have been altered?
A. Our powerful Image Recognition Technology makes accurate matches even if your work has moderate to significant modifications such as being flipped, rotated, colors changed or some cropping. We don’t use meta data to find your image uses because meta data can be stripped from an image.
Q. What is the pricing for ImageRights?
A. ImageRights pricing is based on how many images you keep in your ImageRights account for use monitoring. Our introductory level is only $4.95 per month for up to 250 images. $9.95 per month for up to 1,000 images. $19.95 per month for up to 3,000 images and $34.95 per month for up to 10,000 images. If you have more than 10k images, email us for a quote.
Q. Do I need to have my images encoded with keywords and metadata?
A. No. Many image professional do not have the time to laboriously add keywords and meta data to every image they own. With ImageRights, you can quickly and simply upload hundreds or thousands of images to our site without keywords or meta data. All searches within our site are conducted by powerful Image Recognition Technology.
Q. If there are billions of images online and ImageRights doesn’t scan billions of images, how effective can it be?
A. ImageRights focuses on pulling in images from the internet off of sites that not only may violate a copyright, they also have the means to pay for a license fee if caught. So we concentrate on business, blogs and new and media sites. While there are billions of images sites like Facebook and Flickr, you are unlikely to recover monetary gain from users of these sites.
Q. Do you have new features planned for ImageRights?
A. Yes, we have a number of new and exciting features planned for the last quarter of 2009 and beyond. New features include the ability to add URL’s of sites that you would like for us to monitor. This is very empowering for image pros. Other new features include a recovery service where we help you recover licensing fees for legal judgments on a contingency basis.
Q. Is ImageRights a registry?
