XML: Change layout but not structure

      Hi,

      is it possible to change the layout of a xml-based document without changing the xml structure?

      Let’s say we have following xml structure:

      …
      <fig>
      <desc>Some Description</desc>
      <graphic href=”url”/>
      </fig>
      …

      The output should be:

      Graphic
      Some Description

      Since this order of content does not match the used dtd I would like to change the order only in the layout but not in the structure. XSLT is only a option if there is no such possibility.

      Scripting would be no problem of course.
