I am trying to create a grid in InDesign where the grid is more like “Grill marks.” White vertical and horizontal bars with light grey boxes in between. I can’t seem to find a way to set this up, but I have seen it done before. Any directions or links would be much appreciated. Thanks.

There is a MakeGrid script: https://creativepro.com/transform-a-frame-into-a-grid-of-frames.php

      Would that work?

I will look into that script further, I uploaded a profile picture to show the type of grid that I am looking to create.

That’s a clever way to show an image. You can also just upload an image to imgur.com or dropbox or other sites and insert a link to it here.

That looks like a Japanese writing book. :-)
Personally, I would either make a grid of gray frames using Step and Repeat, or use that script, or just make a single gray frame and then use Step and Repeat to make a series of white lines over it.

Sounds great. Thanks so much for your help. I will try those and see what works best for the situation. Cheers!

That trick worked. Here is a link to a video of the process and the concept. This may be old news to some, but it was magic to me.

Great video! Thanks so much for sharing that.

I do suggest putting the grid on a master page, so you don’t have several hundred objects on each page.
