      Hi,

I’m using Adobe Digital Editions and iBooks to proof my epubs, but I’m getting varying results from both. My epubs look a little different from each other in each program, and I’ve tried to alter my InDesign layouts to make the epubs look alright in both programs. However, that’s been very difficult to do. So which ebook reader will more accurately resemble what the audience will see on their devices if I had to rely on one?

      Thanks

I suggest you will get more help by looking through epubsecrets.com and tweeting your question to #eprdctn. The short answer is that you have to test on your target devices and apps. The folks at #eprdctn will have lots more info.

      Hi Marie Lee,

the short answer is: Both readers are important for proofing your book. And you should check your results e.g. in Nook, Kindle Paperwhite, Tolino, other, … as well.

If your epubs look a little different, that is normal behavior and doesn’t hurt. Best practice is to dive in the code, read the Amazon and iBooks Publishing-Guide first and rewrite the bad InDesign CSS according to this guides.
