Where to put images in a Kindle book.

For a public domain book, Amazon requires at least 10 original illustrations. Say, for example, a book has 25 chapters. One could include 25 illustrations, one at the beginning of each chapter. However, if I only want to include 10 illustrations, some chapters would not have illustrations on their first pages. This inconsistency may look odd or be disappointing.

Is there an alternative way to do on a Kindle what some paper books do and that is put all the images in the center of the book? For example, have one chapter in my Kindle book entitled illustrations? I’ve only seen a limited amount of Kindle books with images. Is there some kind of precedence for this, having a chapter or section in a Kindle book where all the illustrations are grouped?

I don’t understand where this 10 original illustrations comes from? In any event you can certainly make a chapter with images only but you’ll have to be able to work with the ePub code first in order for it to convert to Kindle without problems.

Paul, thanks. Regarding 10 or more illustrations, its one of 3 criteria choices Amazon requires for publishing public domain books.

Thanks Larry, my apologies for not Googling it before asking. Interesting concept.
