I’ve been working on a newsletter for a few days off and on. The organization I work for cannot afford Adobe’s Creative Cloud. I’ve been using the trial for the duration of my Internship, however I decided to stay on longer and volunteer.
The problem is now that the trial period for InDesign is expiring, so I installed InDesign CS6.
I tried to open the newsletter project in CS6 and I got an error that I was expecting – “Cannot open “filename” because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign (CS8.0).
You must use that version or later to open the file. To enable it to be opened in this version, choose Save As InDesign CS4 or later or export it to IDML.”
So I went into InDesign CC. In InDesign CC I get the error “Cannot open “filename” because it was saved with a newer version of InDesign CC (10.0).
You must use that version or later to open the file. To enable it to be opened in this verison, choose Save As InDesign CS4 or later, or export it to IDML.”
I initially created this in InDesign CC, and just now tried to open it in CS6. Now it won’t open in either version. I spent quite a bit of time on this project and would hate to lose all the work I did. Does anyone have any idea how I can recover this?
I went into both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of InDesign CC and it says it’s version 9.2.2
