Hello – new member here. Apologies if this topic has been discussed already. I will try to explain what i want to do. I used to work for a news paper publication where we would run a “script” or use a piece of software (I can’t remember unfortunately) to batch run adverts, or “flow” adverts into multiple indesign spreads. If I remember correctly, a frame (or text frame) set up within the InDesign layout contained the same name as the PDF file (advert) located in a folder. I remember that we would run the software or script and the ads would flow straight into the allocated frames within minutes. This saved a bunch of time obviously as it avoided having to individually place images within the frames in the spreads.

Now – I am currently working on a 104 page catalog where I was wondering if I could apply the same technique/process. We receive around 200 images per day from a photography studio which I am running in to the file. We do set up the catalog now with codes so we know where to place images. I already select several images and batch drop images in – this is fast, I know, but still laborious and takes time and we have a looming deadline. I’d rather focus more time on doing layout.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction with this?

      Cheers,

      Clint

      Hi Clint,

this seems to be possible and there are some kind of scripts are available alreday. However: They must be rewritten / adopt to your workflow needs and this can be time consuming.

      Kai
