I am encountering an issue where the “Update Library Item” option is suddenly missing from my contextual menu when I right-click on a library object. I have restarted InDesign, rebooted my computer, and even tried making a brand new library to see if it was some issue with my existing library… none of this helped. The option is just gone!

      Has anyone else encountered this?

This is something that is linked from a CC Library?

Oh, wait… you’re talking about right-clicking in a CC Library. I don’t remember “Update”… I do see Edit. Is that what you mean? Or, how is Update different?

No, I am talking about a “regular” InDesign library, not a CC library and I managed to figure it out!

I had to quit InDesign and go to:

        Users/username/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/

and delete the “Version 18.0” folder (my issue was in 2023). My cache was automatically rebuilt when I relaunched InDesign and now the option is back!

Well done, Jeremy! This will make a good tip so other folks will know to do it if they encounter that problem.
