I just upgraded to ID 2019 last week. I noticed right off when I was updating images in my layouts that the images color looked differently after updating. These are images I have been using for years. I’m working on a catalog now with lots of covers of dated planners. I know these colors real well and they look accurate in photoshop and have looked accurate in ID until my recent upgrade. I noticed it right off. They look accurate once I export a pdf. I’m importing mostly .psd’s into my ID file, but noticed it also happens with pdf’s and AI files. If I look at the .psd file in photoshop, the pdf in acrobat or the AI file in Illustrator I’m very pleased with the color on screen.

I’m guessing someone is going to mention color profiles. I have done some research before coming here and reading about color profiles makes my head hurt. As mentioned above I’m basically I’m working with cmyk .psd files importing into ID. I’m not really changing or working with anything special as far as color profiles. I’ve always been happy with the way the images look on my monitor and how they print until now.

Before I go research color profiles…am I missing something simple? Sorry for the long description and thanks in advance.

      Hi Andrew,
it seems to be a known problem with color settings, take a look at this thread in the Adobe forum:

Thanks for sending me in the right direction Claudio. Trashing that color preference under preferences/adobe/color worked for me! I see other people had to do extra steps, but I thought I would start with the easiest thing first and it worked. Thanks!
