InDesign v 15.1.1 (though I’m seeing complaints about this issue with previous versions) seems to have completely broken the Undo feature. In short, hitting Command/Control + Z doesn’t Undo the last step you made, it reverts you all the way back to the last saved version of the document. SOMETIMES manually going up to the menubar Edit menu and manually selecting Undo will work, but generally only once.
This issue dates back several years, and apparently has been “fixed” by Adobe several times, but keeps coming back.
Anyone had or having this issue that has found a solution?

I’m still running 15.0.3 and have been holding off upgrading largely because of this bug, which I ran into a few versions ago and was an absolute showstopper for me. I never realized how much I use Undo to experiment.
Anyway, 15.1.2 is out and I don’t see any mention of this being fixed in the change list (though it is mentioned as a fix in 15.0.2):

Anyone know if this has been resolved?

I have found this post searching for advices for this problem.
I use 15.1.2 and noticed this yesterday, when suddenly one cmd-z deleted dozens of newly created pages, after I made some text edits. Poof, gone.
So, yeah, the bug is still around, and it is really scary. I could totally imagine not noticing a bunch of very small adjustments being reverted instead of just the last one.
One thing I read somewhere else hint it could be related to preferences, caches, even workspaces (that might be, because mine is a fresh install on a brand new iMac, and the only thing I imported for now was old workspaces).
I’ll go and try trashing caches and preferences, see how it goes, and let you know… Fingers crossed.

So, quick update: deleting manually both preferences and cache seems to make InDesign behave normally again.
I’ll try to work today with the default pref to see how it goes, then try to reinstate my old pref, workspaces and stuff, “for science”.

Wow, that IS scary. Wow. I have not seen that happen. I’m glad to hear resetting prefs helped!
