    I have a 2 sided document that requires numbering in several spots on the front. The problem is that Indesign can’t do a multiple record merge in a multiple page document so if I just do the merge of the front and make a pdf, how do I get the back of the page into my pdf for printing it? Any help on how to solve this by either finding a way to do the multiple numbers without using multiple record and keep both pages in Indesign, or do the multiple record merge on page 1 and add the page 2 to every second page of the pdf?

    Hi judy,

    this is not possible without custom scripting or a 3rd party tool.

    If you’re on a mac i can recommend MyDataMerge. It has been tested by indesignsecrets.com in IndesignMagazine (https://indesignsecrets.com/issues/issue-122-cross-media-color) and it can do what you need: Multiple Merge on multiple pages, from Excel or CSV and it has an inbuilt sequence generator if the numbers you need are somehow sequencial. There’s a free 30days trial so you may check if its suitable for you.
