      Hi all readers,

I am currently working on a epub publication of a book.

Only does this book have title pages / chapter pages with a figure on the background.

So, I've made this page with the title number and chapter title plus the figure on the background as one figure, that i have replace, cause than the page will be published correctly as one page as epub with the title and chapter, as most of you would know.

But what the problem is …. That the title and the chapter now a figure is, so it ain't able to set a paragraph style on the chapter and tittle (to make a table of contents), so I cant make a epub with bookmarks that can be activated.

Those someone has a tip or trick for this?

      Kind regards.

If you use the free utility Sigil, you can tell it where to break chapters, and it will build the toc.ncx for you (the file that creates the navigational TOC).

Or you could add a small bit of easily-findable text in a paragraph above each chapter opener figure and assign a style to it. Use that style to build the nav TOC, then edit both the TOC.ncx file (to add proper chapter names) and the XTHML files (to remove the findable text and replace with nothing, perhaps a space).
