For a long document with 5 chapters and many appendices, my client wants the 3 level of headings in each chapter to be a color specific to that chapter. THat part is easy. What puzzles me is how to set it up so that making a TOC will work.

Will it work to build the TOC by adding each of the styles? For example:

      Hdg1-blue (Level 1)

      Hdg2-blue (Level 2)

      Hdg1-green (Level 1)

      Hdg2-green (Level 2)

      etc.

      OR?

Should I apply the color as character formatting in each of the chapters?

      Thanks for insight.

Never mind. I figured it out. Use same name – but change the color for each chapter. Overthinking it!

      Hi Annamarie,

Are your chapters in separate files? (I think so because otherwise you could not use the same name and different definitions :-)) In that case, you could even use the same color name, and only change the swatch definition!
