      Hi all, its been awhile.

I am creating a content and index for a booklet I am working on but having problems with nested tables. I can only seem to bring in TOC from a paragraph style but its creating the TOC with everything within the style.

      1. Can you not create a TOC with character styles?

      Project……..
Product ID, OEM Number, Description, Price (currently using tab leaders)

I only need the Product ID and Page number not everything else

      Any ideas?

No, you cannot create a TOC from a paragraph style. The easiest way to deal with this is to use a table instead of tab leaders. Then create a separate paragraph style for the Product ID. That will let you pull it into the TOC without also pulling in OEM Number, Description, Price, etc.

I think Kelly meant to say No, you cannot create a TOC from a *character* style. It needs to be a paragraph style, which is why she suggests a table where you could have a unique paragraph style for just the first column (the product ID).

Just wanted to clarify, since it was a confusing typo.
