I am trying to design an A4 size backing sheet that can be tiled so that, regardless of how many sheets are employed, they will fit end to end, side to side, creating one large seamless backing design when stapled to a bulletin board.

The design is the initials of my organization, repeated over and over, at an angle.

I've set up several text boxes, each containing one line of 72 pt text — our initials, tab, our initials, tab, etc. I used “Repeat tab” to make sure the tabs are at regular intervals.

I just get the sides of my sheet to match up, and then the top and bottom don't. Get the top and bottom to work, and now the sides don't match up anymore.

I can't really use InDesign's Tile feature for this, because every sheet needs to be identical.

Apparently there's some trick — having the right tab setting in combination with the proper angle to the text boxes. Does anyone know the math on this?
