      Dear InDesingSecrets family,

I´m really happy to be here. Well, as a writer a tool such as InCopy it´s a bless. Using InDesing to write is great. The dictionary is, sometimes, better than Word´s or Pages. The problem in my opinion is the Text Editor inside InDesign.

Now, with InCopy CC out, I saw that Editor with steroids. I made styles, I check spelling in Spanish and all was more than great and the tab that allows you to see ?how it will look? on InDesing: Amazing!

So, I would like to establish a workflow. I love Robin Williams? The Non Designer InDesing book that inspired me to make all my writing inside our beloved InDesing. That made me bought my Kindle Editions for Real World InDesing CS6 and Writing In InDesing, both very good books.

So, I immediately tried to start using InCopy and? Well, I made a little video about a thing that bothers me a lot about Adobe and Mac. The preference called Application Frame that came, by Default, turn it off. My request is: Can you (friends from Adobe) make a Dialog Box that ask us if we want or not that characteristic on/off the first time that we launch the App?

The thing is that InDesing CS6 was very unstable. It crashes a lot. And every time that happens I had to turn on the Application Frame over and over each time. I use a Wacom Tablet, and as left-handed I can´t just press Cmd+Tab to get back to the App if I accidentally click outside of the windows or pallets. So, to me is really annoying. So, the first time I saw InCopy I saw my desktop and I got crazy :P

      Here´s the video.

To recap, I´ll try the following workflow. Start in InCopy, i´ll try to import the styles of my last magazine and then make all the writing. When I´m finished i´ll let you know. I´ll made some videos and I´ll post the links to the magazine.

      Thanks again,

      Have a great day everybody,

      Ray

Hi Ray, looking at the screencast now.

The Application Frame should be off by default (though I prefer it on, as described here: https://creativepro.com/learn-love-application-frame.php)

Just watched the screenshot .. oh! I got it backwards. Adobe made the App Frame off by default to satisfy scaredy-pants Macs users. Turn on the App Frame with no docs open, maximize the window, and restart the Mac to make it the default.

I know, I know … I agree with everything you said. What’s the podcast?
