I am working on a directory, using the Typefi Autofit plugin within the DataMerge template. This results in variable row heights, which is exactly what I am looking for. But there is one thing I do not know how to set up, or if it is possible to set it up at all: I want the distance between rows to be constant, and furthermore, I want this to be done automatically.
What I have now looks very irregular, because: I set in the DataMerge layout the spacing between rows = 4pt. If a resulting row height is less than what DataMerge reserved for it, the space between it and the next one is superior to 4pt. If the resulting row height is greater, then the distance between it and the next one is less than 4 and may even end up in a mess if there is to much data, forcing the row to grow too tall.
The “Distribute vertical space” in conjunction with the “Use spacing” options from the “Align” panel do the trick, but only for the manually selected objects.
Is there a way to automate this?
