text frame difficulties

      Hi,
      I’m working on a 20 page document and I am encountering a dashed line similar to the regular solid text link line. What does this mean? Also, I’m having trouble linking using the red out port. clicking it doesn’t produce a loaded cursor. Any thoughts? Thanks.
