      Hello IND Secrets,

i was working on a huge catalog of indesign cs6 document which contains more than 500 pages, when i finish my changes and tried to export my file as pdf suddenly text frames are not showing text as well as image place holders are not showing the images for the first 150 pages, although i can see that the text and images is there when open story editor.
i quit indesign and opened the file again
      delete preferences
checked paragraph styles after watching your video on titled with: lynda.com series | InDesign Secrets: When text disappears from a text frame
also tried to open with another machine.

can anyone help me solve this problem please i’m really confused and don;t know what to do.

Do you see the text in the exported PDF?
Is there any overset text? (look in the Preflight panel)

Preflight shows no errors green ball

no i don’t see it. it imports blank pages and this is the issue.

again i checked for overset text i found one in one page with vertical red line under overset line in story editor
how so solve that sir keeping in mind i can’t see paragraph style name in story editor because it doesn’t show the real paragraph style?

      waiting your replay……………………

Try to export the file as IDML and then open up the IDML and see if it’s fixed.

This worked Well while the Original File is still corrupted.
Thank You So much Ari S.

That is one of the purposes of IDML. Open up the IDML and save it again as a regular .indd file. Now you can disregard the old corrupted file and only use the new one. (Just don’t delete the old file until you’re 100% sure that the IDML did not lose anything (can happen sometimes).

I did that bro. the new file has everything ok accept images are dislocated in its frame which is not big problem as i was using few images.

i will keep the old file as you said but i’m still curious why this happen.

any way Thanks again i appreciate your great help.

InDesign files can sometimes get corrupted over time. Especially if it’s a large file, an overused file or a file that used plugins. The solution always is to export to idml.
