I am working on a complex document that I want to turn into a template, as this is a series of reports etc. The the tables in the document are formatted with background colors and row and column stroke formatting. The data in the table will cause it to span several pages, so header rows are important.

I would like to create a Master page for this table page, so that the formatting is all there ready in the template and all I need to do is add in the data.

I can create the table on the Master page just fine. But when i use that Master page to create a new document page, I am unable to add any data into the table.

Please somebody tell me what I am doing wrong!

You may need to override the object on the master page. If you Command-Shift (Ctrl+Shift+) click on it on the document page, does it “come to life”?

Yes, that did the trick. Thanks!
