    Using the “table style options” panel, I have a very simple table with row strokes set to .125 pt. They are set up for every other row, both set the same — to .125 point. I’ve got it set up to SKIP the first row.

    The problem is that instead of a SKIP, there is a heavier line on the first row — there is clearly some sort of a default line set somewhere that wants to show up.

    It would also put this same heavy line for column strokes if simply set to “none”. Instead here I have to set up an alternating pattern with the column strokes set to zero to make those disappear as needed.

    This has got to be so simple, I’ve watched hours of Linked In videos and cannot seem to find what would seem to be a simple setting somewhere. Can anyone help?

    Have you looked up into “Cell styles > Strokes and Fills”?

    Not sure how many you have to do, but you can manually set each line/stroke around a cell.

    When you have a table or portion of a table (ie cell, row, column) selected you get a grid that shows in the stroke panel and in the top control panel (if you have tables selected in your options for the panel).

    Then select the exact divider line you want to change (will show up in blue). Then customize the settings. So you could have a cell with a different stroke style on each side if you wanted. You will notice if you have different controls depending on how many cells you select.
