Maybe it’s just a vagary, but I opened a document that I created in CS4 into CC, and when I go to edit a table within that document, it crashes InDesign. For instance, trying to select a cell with ESC or the entire table by hovering over the top left corner: crash!

I cut and pasted the table into a new page. Same problem.

Because I still have CS4 installed, (for my CS3 friends who need an INX file), I opened it in the “mother” version, and suddenly am getting warnings that InDesign is missing various plug-ins????

Ultimately, I’ll just redo the table, I guess, but is there any documentation about this happening for other CC users?

Is it possible that the text frame that contains the table has any transparency? I believe this is a bug in the current version, and Adobe is aware of it.

Yes, indeed. A drop shadow. I removed that and everything works now. Thank you!

Any time I tried to select one or more cells, InDesign CC crashed. Following your suggestion David, I turned off the drop shadow on the text frame containing the table and I can now edit my tables properly. I’ll just have to remember to turn my shadows back on once the tables are finished.
      Thanks for the tip.
