Hi. I am having issues with formatting numbered lists with text wrap. essentially, If I add an image to the left of a list item and wrap the text, the style goes bonkers and there’s a ton of space after the number (plus the alignment of the succeeding lines of text is now aligned with the number, rather than the first line of text.

I don’t see any way to add image here but. my list item now looks like:

[shape] 1 [text is over here]

What do I do? I’ve looked at tabs and etc and I’m out of ideas.

      Thanks

And, apologies, I can no longer put topics in this new forum format, I don’t know why (I’m on Firefox right now)

ugh. And the formatting I tried to type in was cleaned up by the forum tool, so ignore the bottom part.

A workaround that may help you if I’ve understood right.
Don’t know how to avoid this happening but if you replace the tabs with an invisible graphic the same width, just in the part of text that needs to wrap, it should work.

Draw a box, with no fill and stroke, the exact width of the GAP on your first line’s hanging indent – the space between the right of your list number/bullet and the tab for the rest of the paragraph.
Select this with selection tool and copy it.
Place cursor in text and replace the first tab with the copied graphic.
Select that placed box *using the text cursor* and copy.
Select the tabbed text that needs to wrap.
Do a find and replace of the tab [^t] with the contents of the clipboard plus indent to here [^c^i]
It’s not a perfect method as you’d have to copy and paste different widths of boxes for 1/2/3 digit list numbers.
