Subject Index-style ToC?

      My client recently published a huge volume of Maori proverbs, with no ToC — they are just presented alphabetically. Now he’s considering an ebook version – but what kind of ToC can we set up? The ideal would be to create a navigational list of subjects — but this would not link to consecutive sections, but rather to lists of proverbs picked from throughout the book, any of which a reader could click on and link to. In other words an index, not a ToC.

      Is there any way to produce an ebook with this kind of navigational front end?

      I think you can try “PDF Index Generator”. That should create a Back-Of-Book Index with links related to their corresponding pages in the ebook. You can check it here: https://www.pdfindexgenerator.com
