      Hello everybody,

I use InDesign CC to create an ebook. It contains some articles. Each article has a title which is styled with [x1 paragraph style] AND [x2 caracter styles (to get italics and exponents)]. Each title is exported to buid of the TOC.

I would like to know if an expert knows how to :
      – get the same styles (pararaphs AND caracters) for the TOC. I know how to get the TOC styled with the paragraph style, but not with the caracter styles too.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

You do or do not want the character styles? Normally, InDesign does include the character styles when you make a TOC.

      Hi David,

Yes, I want to include the caracter styles when I make my TOC (not only a paragraphe style).
However, when I open the TOC panel (in Layout/Table of Content), I can only choose among my paragraph styles, not the caracter styles too.
      What am I missing ?

You can only create a table of contents based on paragraph styles. But when you create the TOC, the character styles should come with the text.

Ok David, I see, I just wanted to talk about the TOC which belongs to the reader, not the TOC included in the book itself.
I thought it was possible the reader’s TOC could be styles too.

However in the book’s TOC some words (hyperlinks) were blue colored. As I couldn’t modify that using a dedicated caracters style in InDesign CC, my solution > Open the CSS folder of the epub file, add a CSS class and finished :)
