Hi all,
I’ve been using InDesign for years for typesetting books but I’ve only just recently discovered the possibilities of GREP! I’m very new to it and am trying to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can, but I’m trying to achieve something for an immediate deadline. Here is the situation:
I have a (very long) list of songs that currently look like this:
Weezer – Don’t Let Go
Weezer – Photograph
Weezer – Hash Pipe
Weird Al Yankovic – Amish Paradise
Weird Al Yankovic – Dare To Be Stupid
and so on… I would like it to look like this:
WEEZER
Don’t Let Go
Photograph
Hash Pipe
WEIRD AL YANKOVIC
Amish Paradise
Dare To Be Stupid
So I want to separate the Artist’s name, style it (I just used uppercase in this example, but I would really just like to apply a Paragraph Style), then have all the song titles below it, also styled with a different Paragraph Style, then a line space, then the next artist, and so on.
Is something like this possible with GREP? I think the key is in the ” – “, the hyphen and character spaces dividing the artist from the song title, but I don’t really know how to approach it. Let me know what you all think. Any help would be outrageously appreciated!
