      hello, colleagues,

i am having a bit of a conundrum here.
i have this series of designs that have a technical data-table in them and up till now, I never noticed a problem with them.
However, today I find myself needing that same datatable in a new package design for a new product. I thought to simply copy the table into my new design and then update the technical specs to fit this new item.
but it appears that there is something in this tabel that Indesign doesn’t like, because each time I copy it from the old doc and try to paste it in teh new, Indesign crashes.
i managed by means of elimination to narrow it down to the last line in the table’s bottom right cell where it says: “18 kWh/1.000h”
when turn ing on “show hidden characters” I see that the space between 18 and kWh isn’t actually a space but some kind of mysterious character. could anyone please help me out determining what this character is and how to get it to play nice? i can of course just delete it, but i’d much rather learn what actually is going on here, so I can recognize what happened in the future and not do it again.
i woudl love to share the file with you, or even a screenshot, but don’t know how to do that here.

To share screen shots use something like imgur.com

Willy, I’d be interested in having a look at the file. Feel free to zip it up and send it to me at crych [at] telus [dot] net. Lindsey Martin

Some folks post screenshots at imgur.com and include a link in the post.
