I am interested in how others are storing files. I work for an ad agency as their creative director. I have always saved my InDesign files as ‘package’ so I will have all the links together in a folder. While doing this is helpful I have now accumulated dozens if not hundreds of logos & art that is used over and over in my designs. For example: a company logo that is in all of a clients ads, etc.
My question is – does anyone have a better way of storing design elements that are used over and over? I know you can store images, logos, etc., using bridge, but I would only want to store what is used over and over again, not photos used one-off. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Some kind of a hierarchy system maybe? Thanks!

I use dropbox, where i have everything, pictures, logos and so on saved at on place, and the InDesign documents at an other.
One picture can be used many places, and i don’t want to have the same picture stored more than once.

Package is in my world an old feature, from a time before yop could make a pdf and send til print.

Imagine, that you have to make a change in your logo? If you only have it in one place, you can thange that file, and all your work will be automatic updated. In your way, you will have to change every single version of your logo – and you have to remember to do so …
