    The web site will not allow me to type a Topic Title.

    I am using InDesign CS6 on a Mac running OS 10.14.6 (Mojave). It used to be that I would get a smart guide to indicate when on object was lining up with the centre of the page or column. Suddenly no smart guides, despite all four boxes being ticked in Preferences under Guides and Pasteboard/Smart Guide Options.

    Where have they gone? Hopw can I fix it?

    Hi Tom, sorry about the “Topic” field… it is white on white text! (CSS is tricky… we fixed that, but now it is broken again. I hope it gets fixed again in the next day or two.)

    Have you checked View > Grids & Guides > Smart Guides? Or other options in that submenu? I find that sometimes I type Command-U by mistake and suddenly smart guides are gone!

    Thanks David. Indeed it was the View>Grids & Guides>Smart Guides option. It only occurred to me to look in Preferences and I should have widened my vision.
