      Hi,

I ocassionally use tables but I'm migrating a layout from PowerPoint into InDesign and it has many, many tables with different column configuartions, that is 4 columns, then 3 columns etc – within the same table.

I'm fairly sure it's not possible to split rows in this manner, at least it wasn't. Has anything changed? It's easy to do in Word.

The only way I can see it can be done is creating single row tables and joining them together omitting 1 overlapping stroke.

Unless I've forgotten how to do it :-)

      Can anyone help?

      Chris

You can either use multiple individual tables and put them right next to each other, or you can select cells and merge or split them (using the merge and split features in the Table menu).

      Thanks for the reply David…

With the cell split option you can't format the width of the cells individually without affecting the rest of the table – so I think my only option is to stack individual tables. Which is a fairly huge job as none of the table share the same structure!

      Thanks once again…

A individual desk is produced with its own pillar headers. You can shift the divided platforms individually and shift the platforms to breeze them together.
