    My side panels (containing Pages, Links, Swatches etcetc) have always opened to the left – or into my page. I have them all docked to the right of my screen so opening to the left makes sense.
    For no discernable reason they all now fly out to the right – or out of frame and I have to click three times to get them to fly out to the left. This happens intermittently and I wondered if anyone knew what controls the flyout movement of these panels. I don’t particularly want to rebuild my preferences again – done that far too often with all the upgrades.

    I may have found the solution to my problem. My panels weren’t fully docked on the left: found an Indesign tutorial which says:
    “6 Click and drag the Pages button, moving it to the far-left side of the document window. When a vertical bar appears, release the mouse button. The Pages panel is docked to the left side of the document window.”
