    I can’t get any sort of interactivity on buttons. I have followed several online tutorials so many times, I can’t see where I’m going wrong.
    In particular I followed this one to the letter:https://creativepro.com/showing-and-hiding-objects-in-interactive-pdf.php to make an image appear when I clicked the button.
    The target button was selected to hidden in the pdf, and I made sure interactive elements were selected in the export dialogue box.
    It is so frustrating, it is such a simple thing and I have spent ages trying to get it to work. I must be overlooking something, but what!

    I am using indesign cs4

      When I export the file and open it in preview, because the target button is hidden I see just the trigger button and the curser changes to the hand. That is as expected but when I click on the trigger button it dims slightly and nothing else happens, the target does not appear.

      I have repeated it several times to no avail.

    The key word here is: Preview. Mac OS Preview doesn’t handle interactive PDF very well. Try it in Acrobat.

    I needed to have info displayed when a user clicks on a portion of a map image. I tried to make a map with info pop ups using show hide buttons feature and exporting in interactive Pdf. Problem is that the buttons work in a windows PC but do not work in Android Phones and windows phones.

    I then tried to link the text fields on the map to text on other pages in the same Pdf file using cross-reference . These links worked in android but not on the windows phone. I Need them to work for both. Please suggest what can I do.

    Btw using Acrobat reader on the mobile phones.
