My 400-pages document has some 20 articles, each carrying a title and, just below it, the author’s name – both properly styled with paragraph styles. Accordingly, in the “Table of Contents” dialog box, these two styles are included and matched to an Entry Style, each given its correct Level (2 and 1).

Now what happens is this. While my TOC should list first the author (Level 1), then the title (Level 2, with a page number), what it actually does is list first the title (with a page number), then the author, thus first Level 2, then Level 1. I fail to find out why this happens.

Has anyone an idea why this is not working the way it should?

The problem is actually quite simple. In the document (no Book feature used), the headings of each section begin with Paragraph Style 1 above, followed by Paragraph Style 2 below. In the TOC, I need the arrangement the other way round: Paragraph Style 2 above, followed by Paragraph Style 1 below.

In the TOC the headings appear, with the page number, but the order is the same as in each section. Why, oh why?
