Separate text frames within text frames

We have a client who provided product specification files that were originally created in Adobe FileMaker. We found a plugin to convert those to INDD files so that’s cool. Part of this conversion process has grouped elements (product spec charts, images, text frames, etc) on each page in to 1 text frame. The issue I’m having is finding a solution that will ‘release’ everything from this text frame. Copying and pasting is an option but with 80+ pages, I’m hoping something will help streamline the process. Thanks!

Not sure if this will help, but see the article and comments afterward here:

Thanks for the reply. I actually downloaded this earlier and it has worked for some items but the bulk of content are not separated, particularly the product spec charts. It just seems like there should be a way to remove layered (for lack of better term) text framed items. IYO, does this sound like an inline anchor thing?

It’s very hard to know. How do you know they are inside text frames? Perhaps they’re just nested items? For example, if you select one of these frames, and choose Object > Select > Content, does something happen?

Did you ask the maker of the plug-in? Just wondering because sometimes they have a list of Frequently Asked Questions, and maybe that’s one of them? If their plug-in is popular and used by a lot of people, then maybe others faced the same issue and they have an answer?

Thanks, good suggestion, one which I should have thought of… Time constraints are preventing exhaustive research on their site as some of the posts are a few years old. Here’s the site as reference: https://www.dtptools.com/product.asp?id=mfi. If I get time I’ll try submitting a support email. :\
