How do I search for rubi so I can globally change the attributes?

I don’t know what “rubi” is?

If you don’t know what rubi are, you may not want to bother with my problem. (They are the characters set over Chinese characters as a phonetic guide.)

Sorry I don’t know what everything is… if the problem is clearly laid out there are always ways to troubleshoot that are common amongst most issues.

I see you’ve been on Adobe Forums too https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1596673

I’d love to see a sample file and how this rubi works in InDesign.

I’m not familiar with it – but I’m willing to help in any way I can.

In Japanese, sometimes people don’t know what a particular kanji character is (perhaps because it’s a rare one) so they don’t know how to pronounce it. Rubi is little tiny characters in the phonetic “alphabet” of hiragana that are stuck to the side of the main character.

For example, look at the tiny little characters above some of the text here:

Unfortunately, the US version of InDesign doesn’t offer them, unless you have the World Tools plug-in (in-tools.com). So I’m not sure how you would search for them. I would have assumed there was a feature in the Find/Change dialog box for this. No?

What kind of formatting do you want to change?

Alas, there is no such option in Japanese InDesign. My search of Japanese sites on the web didn’t turn up anything, either.
