      Hello all,

I'd like to create a layout that changes often between different column distribution of 2 or 3 like that:

right now I can do it by anchoring text frame like that:

but that's a pain. Is there a way to define different column settings, with an indent as showed, but all in the same text frame?

      thanks,

Well, InDesign CS5 has a split and span columns feature… but the giant left margin is tricky. Not sure how you would do that part.

The split and span column command applies always to the entire width of the text box, that's my problem…

idealy I would find a way to combine indent and columns – like, define a x mm left indent, then split the rest into columns.

in the sub-column command you can determine an outer margine, but it's equal on both sides – what I'm after is actually a way to set an a-symestric margin.

      Anyone got an idea?
