Runtime Errors using CC from Excel VBA

      Hi,

Just before the switch to InDesign CC, I was creating a script in Excel VBA to produce some datasheets from spreadsheets. It was working — more or less — but now I get a VBA runtime error on startup. It reads “Runtime error ‘429’: ActiveX component can’t create object’.

This happens when a ‘createobject’ command is run, or inferred by another statement.

Now, I tried linking to the new Indesign CC library and similar precautions but the same thing happens.

      Has anyone else encountered this?

      Cheers,

      David Harrison

Update: I exited Indesign CC and cleared any cache folder I could find in my Windows %APPDATA%\Local folder, especially %APPDATA%\Local\Temp and %APPDATA%\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 9.0n_US\Caches. This seemed to do the trick. Hope it helps anyone else with the same issue.

Apologies for the repeated updates, but… the same ‘fix’ failed completely when VBA began to throw similar errors today, so please don’t take the above as advice.

Have given up and am now exporting xml from Excel, then loading and parsing this in Indesign scripts. Much easier.

I also have found a article like tutorial that also contains good solutions and good means which solves the issue. You can access that tutorial from this link:
