I have a few flowcharts (a group of shapes and text boxes) that I would like to reuse multiple times over a document. In the past I saved each chart as an indesign document and place it in, bit I am finding it hard to do. I need to elements to be linked so they update when I change the main one. Is there any other way to create reusable elements?

Why not simply save the flowchart docs as PDF and import them to the other docs?
They will then either auto-update or prompt you to update them.

Hi, did you try using a CC Library item? You can drag your group directly into a library, then link to that. When you edit the library item, all instances will update accordingly.

I can save as pdf but I was finding it tedious to have to open another document.
I tried CC Library- but I found that if I added the chart from the page in Indesign into the CC library it did not give me the option to “Place Linked” and when I edited the original the earlier placed elements did not update.
      Thank you!!

What you want to do is edit the group from the library. Right-click on it and choose Edit–then you can update the library version and anywhere you’ve used the library version will be updated.

What about the Content Collector Tool?
