    I am working within a single text frame, and have regular text for the majority of it. I created a paragraph style for numbering text in a few places where I want to put in a few sub points. I want to restart the numbering each time, but I can only seem to either get continuous numbering, or they are all number 1. Is there a way to restart the numbering each time in the same text frame?

    Yes Lindsey, there is indeed a solution and it is very simple no matter if you are in a single text frame or using multiple ones.

    Using Style-sheet:
    Create Two Style-sheets i.e. one for the first line in the numbered list and second for the rest of the list and follow the same for each List group.

    In the First Style the numbering should start at “1”. whereas
    the Second Style will “Continue from Previous Number” mode under the Number Style.

    Using Override:
    While working on a single style for the Numbered List, Select/keep your cursor in the first line of the number list group and change the “Start At” mode to “1” under the Numbered List options.

    Number List Options can also be recalled by Option+Clicking or Alt+Clicking.

    The fastest way:
    While keeping your cursor in the first line of the number list use Cmd+Click or Ctrl+Click twice, will also do the magic.

    Worked like a charm. Made a copy – called it “reset” and removed all presentation data. Added it after the last bullet point in the previous list. Or at a open position before the new list.
