I have a document that has 200+ images. All graphic frames are assigned the same graphic frame style. Is there an easy way to change all of the graphic frames to be x width by y height and then fit to frame proportionately? Or do I have to manually select each frame, enter the new size, and then refit?

      Thanks as always :)

No, object styles can’t do that for graphic frames.
      One option: https://creativepro.com/set-the-size-of-lots-of-frames-at-the-same-time.php

Just to expand on David’s suggestion, you should be able to make use of the SelectObjects script that is already part of InDesign.

Then for the content, try the Scale Graphics script from In-Tools: https://in-tools.com/article/scripts-blog/scale-graphics-script/

(Too bad the latter can’t do everything for you.)

      Good luck.

Bob, I did run across that but I was skeptical because of the age of it. I am running CC. Do you think there would be any interference? I’m working on a huge project and am nervous of loading new scripts.

Melinda, I did a quick but simple test and the Scale Graphics script ran fine on InDesign CC 2015.1.

I have a number of older scripts that keep chugging along. If you’re ever in doubt, just save a copy of your document elsewhere first.

Now the not-so-good news. I forgot that the SelectObjects script is not document-wide, and after some quick searches, it appears that it is not possible to select objects across spreads in any manner.

You can use Find/Change to get you the next spread with graphics, but I don’t think you gain much. Shift/Page Up or Shift/Page Down would get you through the document just as quickly.

I would do one thing, however, and that’s add a shortcut to Transform Sequence Again Individually. That will be a time saver.

      So close…

      Good luck

      Hello again.

I did run across a sizing script after poking around the scripts pages of the InDesign Secrets site for a while: https://github.com/jpobojewski/InDesign-Toolbox/blob/master/Resize%20Selected%20Items.jsx

So, you don’t necessarily need that Transform command.

It seems to work well, just set your reference point first, but Fit Content to Frame is applied to the images, so watch for non-proportional placement. The Scale Graphics script can quickly correct.

Selection of images is certainly the drawback here.
