Is there a key combination (or one that can be assigned) in ID CS4 to repeat the last action? For example, if I need to apply a character style to noncontiguous text, I currently have to select the first text, click on the character style in the Character Style panel, select the next text to apply it to, and again go to the Character Panel to click on the style.

I'd like to be able to do the equivalent of MS Word's Control+Y but I can't find a Repeat command anywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks.

      Oh, how I wish!

There is repeat last transformation, but it only works for scaling, rotating, moving, etc.

Thanks, David. I thought that might be the case but then I don't always see what is right in front of my nose :).

I can't imagine what ID developers were thinking when they omit what are (at least to me) basic commands that should be in virtually every bit of software.

Any chance you'll add such an action to your Tools? (I have bought it yet but have it sitting on my desktop to remind me to do so. Soon, I promise!)

If you're just applying a Character Style you could assign a KBSC for that.

As far as last command goes, I've had success with the Quick Apply, if you press CTRL RETURN or CMD RETURN

Type in the command you want to do

Then go to the next item, CTRL ENTER and Enter again.

      Thanks, Eugene.

It isn't worthwhile to assign a KBSC to the style. What I would like to do is assign a KBSC to a Repeat option :).

In that case the Quick Apply is the fastest way I can think of.

If you type into the Quick Apply the exact command you need and hit enter it applies it.
