Reformat book files into single file?

      I’m trying to work from another designer’s file, and they created a “book” file with each chapter separated. I don’t like working that way, having to switch between tabs instead of just scrolling down through the chapters. Is there a way to migrate or consolidate all those separate chapters into one file or document? Does that make sense? Or do I have to just start over and reflow the entire book?
      Help!
