      Is there a way to place an object using a different reference point?

      Let’s say, I am placing an object that I am not sure of the exact size, but I know I want the top-right corner of the object to snap to the top-right corner margin. Right now, I have only been able to place an object based on the top-left corner. Any ideas other than placing the image and using the align tools?

      Use the “Nine-dots Square” with the Black Arrow and “active” the Top-Right”!

      I suppose reference point was not the right term to use. I can use that once the object is placed, definitely!

      However, I’m looking for when the object hasn’t been placed, yet, but is attached to the mouse waiting for you to place it. The mouse reference on the object is stuck in the top-left corner, so I have to place the image based only on the top-left corner. Is there a way to change that?

      I see!

      No way to change the Place Cursor (“place gun”) behavior. So it would be better to draw a frame which is aligned where you want it, then fill it with the image, and then use the Object > Fitting features to make the frame fit the image, or the image fit the frame.

      Oh, shucks! I will then stick to the Fitting Features. It sounds like that will work for what I need. Thanks, David!

      You could import the image normally and just play a single-line script to move the import on the left depending on its width!

      This script will move the selected frame on the left (= Object width, no rotation):

      app.selection[0].move([(app.selection[0].geometricBounds[1]*2)-app.selection[0].geometricBounds[3],app.selection[0].geometricBounds[0]]);

      You’re lucky! I only give for free one-single-line script! =D
