    Hi everyone,

    Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer. I consider myself comfortable in InDesign and with using paragraph, character, and object styles, but cannot figure out the best way to make this work.

    I produce brochures for real estate listings, highlighting photos I have taken of properties my clients (agents) have listed for sale, with property details listed. Most of my designs begin with the same basic templates, but I’d like to be able to customize them for clients quickly. What I’m looking for is a way to select a color scheme, for example, in Kuler, and apply the colors all at once. Rather than having to edit each style individually, or use Find/Change to manually locate all instances of a color, I’d like to select a primary color, secondary, tertiary, etc., and apply all at once.

    I’m sure this is stretching InDesign’s purpose a bit, so am also open to suggestions of other software better suited for this purpose. Any direction is much appreciated. Thanks!

    Thanks, David! I will give this a shot. From that post, it looks like Load Styles will be what I will want to use if I want to switch out document fonts for a different feel as well [I didn’t know that feature existed]. Very excited for that!

    At the risk of my original question experiencing scope creep, I’m curious to get your take on another aspect of this project. Let’s say I have one “hero” shot of a property and four secondary photos, and want to give clients the option to lay them out in three or four different ways. Is there any way to accomplish this and only have to place each photo once in the document? I can’t tell if that is a case for Alternate Layout, Linked Content, or a combination of the above.

    By the way, absolutely love your Lynda.com courses. That’s how I got comfortable with it in the first place!
