Quick way to get a new tag into multiple documents, without syncing

My book project has 10 chapters so far, and I'm not ready to sync styles just yet. I'm at the point where I've placed the copyeditor's typecoded text into the individual chapters so I can search and style the largest portions across all documents first, and then go in and do the fine-tuning within each chapter.

I've already created styles for A and B heads, but hadn't made one for the C heads. As I said, I'm not ready to sync the styles through the book file yet, but didn't want to have to load or copy the C head style I just created in Chapter 1 manually to the other chapters.

Instead, I did a search for all material coded <C> in all (open) documents, to tag this material with my new C head style, which existed only in Chapter 1 at this point. The C head style has been loaded into all of the chapter files now, without me having to manually load this style into each individual file or sync all styles yet.

I hope this is helpful to someone.
