I have tried changing some query’s in the FindChangeList.txt file and some have worked and other have not.
The “Phone Number Conversion (dot format)” works in the Find/Change pallet but doesn’t work in the .txt file
      ie. (find/Change Pallet) find: \(?(\d\d\d)\)?[-. ]?(\d\d\d)[-. ]?(\d\d\d\d)
      change: $1.$2.$3

But when I put thaose codes into the .TXT file the do not work…
      ie. (FindAndChangeList.txt file)
      text {findWhat:”\(?(\d\d\d)\)?[-. ]?(\d\d\d)[-. ]?(\d\d\d\d)”} {changeTo:”$1.$2.$3″} {includeFootnotes:true, includeMasterPages:true, includeHiddenLayers:true, wholeWord:false} Phone Number Conversion(dot format) .

also will not do all of the “Remove trailing Whitespace” query as well does some but leaves the last ¶ return symbol of a story (¶#)
      ie. +$

Please help me resolve these minor but time waisting Queries
      Thank You

Good question, I normally don’t use that script because I have never been able to get any GREP to work that I put into it, but I broke down and tried to figure out why I couldn’t get it to work and I found that you need to double escape just about everything, try this

      (?(ddd))?[-. ]?(ddd)[-. ]?(dddd)

      Thank you that has worked…

P.S. one thing I have noticed editing that script in “TextEdit” it uses smart quotes and not straight quotes, so I have to manually change them…

No problem Tuz, I noticed something a little different with the quotes, if you are searching for Double or Single quotes, you cant use Unicode quote marks, it errors out, so you have to use the InDesign meta characters for quote marks (eg Double quotes: ~{ or ~}, and single quotes ~[ or ~]). I will have to remember that about TextEdit, I almost used it but decided to go with Sublime Text as that’s what I use for everything else, so I didn’t run into that issue.

Also the following “remove trailing white space” doesn’t work either…

      ie. +$

it leaves at the end of the story a return and a #. not just the #

      Any ideas?
      Thank you

Hmm, try double escaping again (eg s+$), that seemed to work for me.
