I manage ten MacOS workstations and am responsible for pushing scripts (new, updated, bug-fix, etc), jobOptions, and Print settings to users. I also manage other tasks like keeping software up-to-date on workstations. I’m the default IT for our department, but I’m not officially part of the company IT.
What tools are available to help automate this push process?
I’m wondering how Apple Remote Desktop, Apple Business Manager, and similar tools help me in this process.
I’m vaguely familiar with apps like JAMPF and Monki, but don’t know if they do what is needed.
I’ve also tried the following, but run into walls:
*Automator apps containing shell commands to copy scripts from server to the various script folders. This fails as I can’t authenticate as admin, nor does including sudo or sudo -A help (there is no prompt for admin password.)
I look forward to input and hope to get away from logging in to each station to manually perform these common and frequent tasks.
