      Hi all-

Is there a way to create a Paragraph Style that adds text to a selection? For instance, I have a variation of my Whole Wheat Bread recipe called Whole Wheat Rye Bread. I'd LIKE to simply select Whole Wheat Rye Bread, apply a PStyle, and end up with: Whole Wheat Rye Bread – Variation. I have hundreds of – Variation to insert, index, and x-ref, so a PStyle would be really handy to me.

      Any suggestions?

As always, thanks for any insight.

I don't think this is possible, but you could (I suppose) apply a “variation” paragraph style to those styles, then do a grep find/change to add “– variation” at the end of the paragraph for just those.

I'm with David on this – text styles (Paragraph, Character and GREP) change the appearance of type, not adding text content that wasn't originally there. Only exception to that I can think of would be bullets and numbering.

Again, I'd do what David suggested – a find/change using GREP to add the “– variation” part.
